Manama, June 25 (BNA): The Southern Region Municipality has planted 307 local trees in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior and the people of Khalifa City, in line with the national campaign for afforestation and the initiative to intensify cultivation in residential areas.
The campaign comes within the efforts of the Southern Region Secretariat to cooperate and coordinate with the relevant authorities and civil society institutions to cover all untapped areas in streets, corridors, parks, residential neighborhoods, and beautify urban areas, as well as preserving the environment and increasing green spaces. region.
The Southern Region Municipality thanked the Ministry of Interior and the people of Khalifa City for their contributions to the campaign, noting that the initiative will continue to cover other sites in the city.
The Southern Region Municipality had already planted trees around a number of health centers, including Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalid Al Khalifa Health Center, Hamad Kanoo Health Center, and Yousef Abdul Rahman Al Mohandes Health Center, in cooperation with primary health centers.
The Southern Region Municipality also visited the Riffa Views project, and discussed with its officials ways to enhance cooperation to implement afforestation projects there.
