Southern Governorate starts National Day celebrations

Manama, December 11 (BNA) The Southern Governorate started its celebrations on the occasion of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s celebration of national holidays, commemorating the establishment of the modern Bahraini state as an Arab and Islamic state founded by Ahmed Al-Fateh in 1783, and the anniversary of His Majesty the King’s accession to the throne.

The first celebrations of the National Day were held in the vicinity of Sheikh Salman bin Ahmed Al-Fateh Fort, under the patronage of the Governor of the South, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa.

The celebrations witnessed a poetic briefing by Abdullah bin Huwail, in which he expressed his deep loyalty and belonging to the homeland.

The police band and the Bahraini Al-Ardah Society also participated in the celebrations, which attracted many citizens.

The Southern Province has prepared a rich program to celebrate the national holidays, extending from today until December 18.
