Saudi Arabia submits its bid to host 2026 AFC Women’s Asian Cup

Kuala Lumpur, Dec. 2 (BNA): The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has officially announced its plans to host the 2026 FIFA Women’s Asian Cup for the first time in history, it was reported here today.


In this regard, the Saudi Football Association presented Saudi Arabia’s offer to host the event during a meeting with representatives of the Asian Football Confederation in the Malaysian capital, Kuala Lumpur, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).


The Saudi delegation, consisting of the first assistant coach of the Saudi women’s national football team, Dany Ragab, Raghad Helmy, the national team player, and Maria Baghfar, presented the file to the Asian Football Confederation.


Highlighting the event, Yasser Al-Mushal, President of the Saudi Football Association, said that Saudi Arabia has completed its plans to produce one of the best women’s football festivals in the world.


The organizers stated that Saudi Arabia is competing with Jordan, Australia and Uzbekistan to host the event, and the decision is expected to be made in 2023.
