Manama, June 8 (BNA): The Prisons and Facilities Visit Committee at the National Institution for Human Rights held its twelfth regular meeting today, headed by Dr. Money God Jaafar Al Hammadi and the presence of members Dina Abdul Rahman. Who and Daniel Mark Cohen.
The committee reviewed the progress made in implementing its previous decisions and recommendations and the measures taken in their regard so far, especially those related to the decision to prepare a form for visiting educational facilities. It also discussed aspects related to the inclusion of educational and training institutions and facilities before the committee visited it.
The committee announced that it had completed its preparations to conduct field visits to some health institutions and arrest and detention centers during the coming period, in order to activate the oversight role of the National Institution for Human Rights.
The authority stressed that these visits aim to verify the human rights conditions of the inmates of these centers, and to ensure their continued enjoyment of the rights and services provided in accordance with the basic principles of human rights standards.
