Bahrain participates in TFTC capacity building workshop

Riyadh, June 8 (BNA): The delegation of the Kingdom of Bahrain participated in a capacity-building workshop for combating terrorist financing, which was held here.

The workshop was organized by the Terrorist Financing Targeting Center in cooperation with the US Department of Justice.

The delegation included specialists and experts in this field from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Interior and the Central Bank of Bahrain.

The participation of the Kingdom of Bahrain in this specialized workshop confirms its commitment to support all efforts aimed at combating money laundering and eliminating sources of terrorist financing. It also demonstrates the importance it attaches to strategic and constructive cooperation with regional and international partners in these files, in order to ensure the fight against everything that aims to threaten global peace and stability.

It should be noted that at the national level, more than 60 specialized people, representing six national institutions and bodies in the Kingdom of Bahrain, participated in the center’s workshops in 2021. This in turn reflects the concerted efforts of the competent national authorities in this field. The Kingdom in combating money laundering and terrorist financing in a way that enhances Bahrain’s international standing in issues related to peace and security.

Representatives of the member states of the Technical and Vocational Training Center, namely the Gulf Cooperation Council and the United States of America, participated in the workshop.
