Alba implements VR for employees’ training courses

Manama, July 23 (BNA): Aluminum Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba), one of the largest aluminum smelters in the world, has partnered with Spectra eSolutionsCo. WLL, to apply virtual reality (VR) technology to in-house training courses in five different fields.

The signing ceremony was attended by the CEO of Alba, Ali Al Baqali, and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Spectrum Obaidli Obaidli, on the occasion of the implementation of the pilot project for virtual reality training for “emergency power lines”.

The Virtual Reality Training on “Production Line Emergencies” will provide a safe and realistic platform for Alba employees to learn about “Production Line Emergencies” and the procedures to be followed when operating a production line as well as the procedures to be taken in emergency situations such as pressurization, open circuit, prolonged power failure, alumina supply failure and compressed air supply failure.

“Virtual reality is a medium – a means through which our employees can learn in a safe and immersive environment without the risk of injury. Alba is known as one of the leading technology-driven companies in Bahrain that has embraced the latest digital technologies as part of its Industry 4.0 transformation journey,” said Al-Baqali.

“We are pleased to partner with Atyaf Electronic Solutions who have extensive experience in implementing augmented reality and virtual reality technologies in the region and accelerating our goals when it comes to sustainability.”
