Paris, July 20 (BNA) Kasper Asgren upset sprint specialists to win the 18th stage of the Tour de France on Thursday at the end of a long breakaway, giving the Soudal Quick-Step team its first win in this year’s race.
Dane Asgreen, winner of the 2021 Tour of Flanders, timed his final perfectly as the peloton breathed down the neck of the four breakaway riders at 185km from Moutiers.
He beat the Dutchman Pascal Einkorn and the Norwegian Jonas Abrahamsen, who ranked second and third, respectively, according to Reuters.
