LMRA CEO meets Sri Lankan Ambassador

Manama, May 30 (BNA): Mr. No Abdulrahman Jamsheer, CEO of the Labor Market Regulatory Authority and Chairman of the National Committee for Combating Human Trafficking, received Sri Lankan Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Rethesri Wegertney Mendez.

Jamsheer congratulated the ambassador on the tenth anniversary of the opening of the Sri Lankan embassy in Bahrain.

She stressed the importance of coordination between diplomatic missions and government agencies in raising awareness of workers’ rights and the need to adhere to the laws and regulations in the country.

Jamsheer discussed with the ambassador the conditions of Sri Lankan workers in the Kingdom and more cooperation between the Labor Market Regulatory Authority and the embassy.

The CEO affirmed the Kingdom’s commitment to developing the work environment to maintain stable work relations that preserve the rights of all work parties without discrimination.

Jamsheer briefed the ambassador on developments in the labor market, and highlighted the implementation of initiatives that contribute to enhancing the work environment, preserving the rights of all employers, and providing protection for workers without prejudice, including the labor registration program and the voluntary registration program.
