Manama, October 31 (BNA) Al-Hidaya Al-Khalifia School for Boys and Isa Town School for Boys qualified for the semi-finals of the Interscholastic Football Championship after they topped the first group.
Al-Taawun School and Al-Fateh School qualified from the second group in the championship organized by the Department of Physical Education at the Ministry of Education in cooperation with the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, the General Sports Authority and the Bahrain Football Association from October 10 to November. 17.
“The tournament is for public and private schools across the island,” said Kenny Bayler, Principal of Bahrain Sports School.
The sports league we are participating in this year, BSSL (Bahrain School Sports League), has been invited to submit one team to participate in the tournament. The Saudi Football League (BSSL) held a small qualifying tournament on Saturday 9th October, where the Bahrain School was unbeaten. Our success in the BSSL Qualifiers has earned us a place in the official tournament taking place from October 19 to November 17.”
The semi-final matches will be played on November 14, and this year’s champion will lift the trophy on November 17.
The tournament marks the return of sports competitions for school teams after the gap caused by the epidemic.
