Three-day chess tournament set to start on Thursday

Manama, Dec. 14 (BNA): Chess competitions will open tomorrow (December 15) amid the Kingdom of Bahrain’s celebrations of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s celebration of national holidays to commemorate the establishment of the modern state of Bahrain as an Arab and Islamic country. It was founded by Ahmed Al-Fateh in 1783, and commemorates His Majesty’s accession to the throne.

About 400 chess players from Bahrain and abroad are expected to participate in the three-day tournament, which is organized by the Bahrain Chess Club (BCC) in cooperation with Al-Oruba Club and the Argonne Chess Academy in Bahrain.

More than 45 prizes have been allocated to be distributed to the winners in various categories, including amateurs, children and professionals.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Center, Dr. Khaled Al-Awadi, congratulated His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa on this occasion.

He also congratulated His Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

He also praised the sincere efforts made by His Majesty the King for humanitarian work and youth affairs, His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Vice President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of the Public Authority for Sports and the Bahrain Olympics.
