HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister Chairs Weekly Cabinet Meeting

Manama, November 22 (BNA) His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister chaired today the weekly meeting of the Council of Ministers at Al-Qudaibiya Palace.

The Cabinet noted the results of the talks held by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa with the President of the Federative Republic of Brazil, Jair Bolsonaro, and their importance in strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

The Cabinet affirmed that the agreements and memoranda of understanding signed during the Brazilian President’s visit will enhance coordination and cooperation between the two countries in the investment, political and cultural fields and the organization of joint events.

The Cabinet also referred to the speech of His Majesty King Hamad when receiving senior participants in the seventeenth edition of the Manama Dialogue, which affirmed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s commitment to peace and debate that enhances security and stability at the regional and global levels.

The Cabinet praised the participation of foreign personalities and representatives in the Manama Dialogue, which is a testament to the international community’s commitment to achieving security and stability, leading to further progress and development.

The Cabinet congratulated His Majesty the King on the success of the Kingdom of Bahrain in hosting the third edition of the Bahrain International Cup.

The Council of Ministers indicated that the race was attended by owners of stables and international owners, which reflects the position of the Kingdom of Bahrain in the horse racing circuit. The Cabinet praised the efforts of the Supreme Committee of the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club, headed by its Chairman, His Highness Sheikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, in organizing an event highlighting the efficiency of the Kingdom of Bahrain in hosting world championships.

To support the objectives of the economic recovery plan, the Cabinet affirmed its commitment to organizing and hosting additional conferences that enhance Bahrain’s contribution to the exhibition and conference industry, in support of the economic recovery plan.

The Council of Ministers highlighted the success of Jewelery Arabia 2021, which was held under the patronage of His Royal Highness, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, noting that it was well organized and was very popular.

The Council also reviewed a detailed report on the organization and attendance of the exhibition.

The Council of Ministers agreed to allocate March 25 as an annual day to celebrate Bahraini youth for their role in the development and development of the Kingdom. Based on the presentation of His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs.

The Council of Ministers assigned the Ministerial Committee for Financial and Economic Affairs and the Balance of Public Finance to follow up on the strategic projects plan of the economic recovery plan, whose value exceeded 32 billion dollars. The committee was also assigned to follow up on new investment projects worth more than $30 billion.

These projects include building new cities, commercial and industrial zones, and projects related to infrastructure, tourism, industry, education, health, housing, youth, and sports.

During the meeting, the Council of Ministers discussed several memoranda with the following results:

1. A memorandum from the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs regarding a memorandum of understanding between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Government of Belwick Jersey regarding cooperation in the financial, digital and cultural sectors.

2 – Memorandum of the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs regarding a memorandum of understanding between the Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Greece, aimed at strengthening cooperation between the two countries at the bilateral and international levels.

3. The memorandum of the Minister of Interior regarding the digital transformation of the services provided by the General Traffic Department by adding several services to the e-government portal. These include the issuance of a consent form to drive another person’s car across the King Fahd Causeway.

In addition to the launch of a digital driver’s license and vehicle ownership, which does not require the owner to carry a physical copy of each.

4. The memorandum of the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs regarding the government’s response to the Parliament’s proposal.

The Cabinet reviewed the following topics:

1. The memorandum of the Minister of Electricity and Water Affairs regarding the services provided during the summer of 2021. The report indicated that there were no technical problems or interruptions during the summer despite the increase in energy consumption.

The memo indicated that the installation of smart meters for all Bahraini main residences and the transition to the new billing system will be completed in January 2022.

Then the Cabinet reviewed the ministerial reports on: the participation of the Kingdom of Bahrain in the 41st session of the General Conference of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the visit of the Republic of Turkey, and participation in the 2021 Dubai Air Show.
