HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister chairs weekly Cabinet Meeting

Manama, December 13 (BNA) His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister chaired today the weekly meeting of the Council of Ministers at Al-Qudaibiya Palace.

The Council of Ministers congratulated His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, on the occasion of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s celebration of the National Day, in celebration of the National Day. The establishment of the modern state of Bahrain during the era of its founder Ahmed Al-Fateh, as well as the anniversary of the accession of His Majesty King Hamad to the throne.

The Cabinet also congratulated Bahraini citizens on this national occasion, praising the comprehensive achievements made by the Kingdom under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad.

The Cabinet praised the results of the talks held by His Majesty the King and His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Cabinet noted the importance of the visit of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman to the Kingdom of Bahrain and its role in strengthening bilateral relations.

The talks confirmed the unified position of the two kingdoms towards various regional and international issues and developments.

The Cabinet praised the results of the second meeting of the Saudi-Bahraini Coordination Council headed by His Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman. The council aims to improve integration between the two kingdoms in various fields within the framework of the well-established bilateral relations.

In this regard, the Cabinet reviewed the topics addressed by the Saudi-Bahraini Coordination Council, including: a package of major investment projects in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and the investment of $5 billion from several Saudi bodies and funds in development projects inside the Kingdom.

The Council of Ministers praised the vision of His Majesty the King in promoting the values ​​of understanding and communication between cultures, which made Bahrain an inspiring model in promoting tolerance and openness. In this regard, the Council of Ministers welcomed the inauguration of the new Cathedral of Our Lady of the Arabs in Al-Awali, which was erected under the patronage of His Majesty the King.

The Cabinet noted the meeting of His Royal Highness, Crown Prince, Prime Minister, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and Crown Prince of the United Arab Emirates. Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The Cabinet also congratulated the UAE on the success of the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi 2021 Grand Prix, noting the efforts made to host this important sporting event successfully, thus enhancing the region’s position in the world of motorsport.

The Council of Ministers also decided to increase the support provided through the financial support program for families with low incomes by 10%, after the House of Representatives unanimously agreed on the issue.

The Cabinet expressed its thanks and appreciation to the members of the House of Representatives and the Shura Council for their permanent commitment to strengthening cooperation between the executive and legislative authorities in supporting the development process that benefits Bahraini citizens.

The Cabinet also thanked the Ministerial Committee for Financial and Economic Affairs and Fiscal Balance headed by His Excellency the Deputy Prime Minister for leading the coordination meetings with the House of Representatives.

On the occasion of Bahrain Police Day, the Cabinet highlighted the role that Ministry of Interior employees play in establishing security to support national achievements. Recalling, in this regard, the recent visit of His Royal Highness, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and Prime Minister, to the Ministry of Interior, which reaffirmed the Kingdom’s appreciation for their efforts to enhance public safety.

In celebration of Martyr’s Day, the Cabinet praised the memory of the dead soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the security of Bahrain and the safety of its citizens.

Within the framework of the royal order to build 40,000 housing units, His Highness the Crown Prince and the Prime Minister directed the distribution of 2,000 housing units to citizens before the end of this month. His Highness directed the Ministry of Housing to make the necessary preparations to start distributing housing units in East Sitra, Khalifa City, Salman and East Hidd, starting tomorrow, Tuesday.

The Cabinet affirmed its commitment to the continuous follow-up of global developments regarding the emerging corona virus and its mutations, to ensure the readiness of the Kingdom of Bahrain to take the necessary measures to protect public health. The Cabinet stressed the importance of adhering to the precautionary measures and receiving the vaccine and the booster dose in order to preserve public health.

The Cabinet expressed its best wishes for the success of the upcoming 42nd session of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, which will be hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on December 14. The Council expressed its hope that the session would result in decisions and recommendations that would enhance Gulf cooperation and the aspirations of the peoples of the region for security, stability and development.

The Cabinet expressed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s solidarity with the United States of America in the wake of the hurricane incident that struck a number of countries, offering condolences to the families of the victims.

During the meeting, the Council of Ministers discussed several memoranda with the following results:

Agree to the following notes:

1. A memorandum by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs regarding the nomination of the Minister of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning as a Minister to respond to the legislative authority on behalf of the Real Estate Regulatory Authority.

2. A memorandum from the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs regarding a memorandum of understanding between the Survey and Land Registration Office and the US Department of Defense regarding marine surveys (hydrography) and other related activities.

3. The memorandum of the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs regarding the government’s response to three proposals from the House of Representatives.

The Cabinet also reviewed the following memorandum:

1. A note by the Minister of Housing regarding the latest developments in housing projects.

The Council then reviewed the ministerial reports related to the participation of the Kingdom of Bahrain in the meeting of the 150th session of the Ministerial Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council, the twenty-ninth meeting of the Executive Office of the Arab Ministerial Council for Tourism, and the twenty-fourth session of Arab ministers.
