HM King, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, patronises Commemoration Day

Manama, Dec. 17 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, patronized the ceremony, in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad, the Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces. The forces and the Prime Minister, a memorial event on the occasion of Martyr’s Day, was held at Sakhir Palace today.

Upon his arrival, His Majesty the King was received by a convoy of cavalry, Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defense Force, Field Marshal Sheikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander of the National Guard, Lieutenant General His Highness Sheikh. Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the Minister of Interior, Major General Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, in addition to senior state officials, senior officers and families of the late military.

Then His Majesty the King headed to the main platform and the national anthem was played on the occasion of Martyr’s Day.

I recited some verses of the Holy Quran, the artillery fired one shot, a minute of silence was observed, then a second artillery shot was fired. Next, a band played the “Last Return” melody.

Then, a squadron of fighter jets of the Royal Bahraini Air Force (RBAF) carried out a flight in honor of the dead soldiers. Then His Majesty the King inspected the guard of honor, and its members lined up to greet him.

Sheikh Adnan bin Abdullah Al-Qattan, head of the Sharia Department at the Court of Cassation and imam of Al-Fateh Mosque, delivered a speech in honor of the martyrs of duty, and a prayer of mercy for them.

His Majesty the King praised his sponsorship of Martyr’s Day in appreciation of the sacrifices made by the dead soldiers who lost their lives while carrying out their national duties.

Afterwards, the chief of royal ceremonies prayed for the souls of the fallen soldiers, and watered the palm tree, which is the symbol of eternal life.

Finally, the national anthem is played, signifying the closing of the commemorative event.

On this glorious occasion, His Majesty the King, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, delivered a statement expressing his pride in celebrating Martyr’s Day in appreciation of the contributions of the martyrs of duty since the establishment of the modern state in Bahrain, noting that they embodied the best values ​​of courage and redemption, and set themselves as role models for future generations in love of the homeland.

His Majesty the King indicated that December 17 is an annual national occasion to commemorate the sacrifices of the brave Bahraini soldiers who lost their lives in Bahrain or abroad, as they defend the values ​​of truth and justice, preserve national security and sovereignty, and fight terrorism. Providing humanitarian relief to the injured in line with the teachings of the Islamic religion and established national values.

His Majesty the King, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, saluted the valiant members of the armed and security forces for their firm commitment to carrying out their sacred national duties in defending the homeland and its people with courage and valor.

His Majesty the King affirmed that every fallen soldier is a national hero who is cherished by their brothers in arms, indicating that their heroic deeds will always be engraved in the national memory.

His Majesty the King pointed out that the families of the martyrs are brave like the fallen soldiers, praising their homeland and their keenness to instill patriotism in the minds and hearts of their children.

His Majesty the King praised the citizens for their noble stances, cohesion, and keenness to support the families of the departed soldiers, stressing that every martyr is the son of every Bahraini in the one-family Bahraini society.
