High Committee for Haj and Umrah Affairs holds meeting

Manama, Jan. 22 (BNA): Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments, Nawaf bin Muhammad Al-Maawda, chaired the first meeting of the Supreme Committee for Hajj and Umrah Affairs.


The committee was briefed on the visit of a delegation from the Ministry to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to sign agreements related to the Hajj season and to attend the Hajj and Umrah conference and exhibition.


The members of the committee emphasized the fruitful cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to serve Bahraini pilgrims.


They praised the ability of the Saudi authorities to return to pre-pandemic levels of pilgrimage. They praised the Saudi initiative to reduce the cost of insurance for pilgrims by 63% and pilgrims by 73%.


The committee decided to allow a temporary merging of Hajj and Umrah for this year, while maintaining the level of services.


He also discussed plans to enhance services provided to Bahraini pilgrims, including those related to pilgrims’ camps and holy sites facilities.
