Dortmund earn rollercoaster 4-3 win over Augsburg on Haller return

Berlin, January 22 (BNA): Borussia Dortmund snatched a 4-3 victory over Augsburg on Sunday (22 January) as striker Sebastien Haller appeared as a substitute after treatment for cancer.

Borussia Dortmund striker Youssouf Moukoko signed a two-year contract with the Ruhr Valley club until 2026 on Saturday, after months-long negotiations for the youngster’s stay.

Augsburg equalized three times before Gio Reina’s 78th-minute strike gave the hosts victory at the start of the season after a two-month break.

Dortmund, who saw Ivory Coast striker Haller as a second-half substitute in his first post-operative appearance since July, are sixth with 28 points.

Moukoko enjoyed a strong first half of the season which led to his call-up to Germany, after he scored six goals in the Bundesliga and set up another three.

Dortmund fired home after 29 minutes when Jude Bellingham volleyed through three defenders after creating a bit of much-needed space with a superb movement.
