Manama, June 25 (BNA) Her Highness Sheikha Mozah bint Hamad Al Khalifa inaugurated the Pediatric Cardiology Unit at the Mohammed bin Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa Specialized Cardiology Center in Al Awali District.
Her Highness Sheikha Thajbeh bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and Her Highness Sheikha Mariam bint Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa inaugurated the new medical facility.
The opening ceremony was held in the presence of Her Highness Sheikha Zain bint Khalid Al Khalifa, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of AlMabarrah AlKhalifia Foundation, founder of the Board of Directors of MKF Electronic Services.
The event was also attended by the Governor of the South, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Major General Dr. Fouad Abdul Qader Saeed, Deputy Director of the Mohammed bin Salman Al Khalifa Center for Cardiology, and Dr. Raisin Hammoud Al Badran, Advisor to Mohammed bin Salman. The medical unit is fully equipped with a donation from the Her Highness Sheikha Mozah bint Hamad Al Khalifa Fund, which is managed by AlMabarrah AlKhalifia Foundation.
On this occasion, Her Highness Sheikha Thajba bint Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa and Her Highness Sheikha Mariam bint Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa expressed their happiness at the opening of the unit of Her Highness Sheikha Mozah bint Hamad Al Khalifa for the treatment and surgery of gynecology. Pediatric Cardiology, which is an exceptional addition to the medical services provided in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

She confirmed that the opening of the unit comes as a testimony to the initiatives and support of the Her Highness Sheikha Mozah bint Hamad Al Khalifa Fund, which is managed by AlMabarrah AlKhalifia Foundation, for the unit’s role in benefiting the people of the neighborhood by diagnosing and treating patients according to the highest medical standards.
He praised the efforts of the center in providing the needs of the Bahraini citizen with advanced treatment and its tireless pursuit towards achieving high standards of treatment services.

The Mohammed bin Khalifa bin Salman Center for Cardiology was inaugurated on February 4, 2021 in the Al-Awali area under the supervision and implementation of the Bahrain Defense Force “BDF”.
The center consists of a main building and seven support buildings that include: the main kitchen, the main warehouse, two buildings for the main security services, a building for the support services, and a building for the information center.
The center contains 148 beds with the possibility of expansion in the future. It is also equipped with five catheter laboratories, and two facilities for heart surgery, all of which are equipped with the latest modern technologies to support smart hospitals. The center aims to provide high quality and standard healthcare in line with international and global standards.
