Nottingham Forest signs Taiwo Awoniyi from Union Berlin

London, June 25 (BNA) Nottingham Forest have signed striker Taiwo Owenyi after paying the club’s record transfer fee to Union Berlin, making the Nigerian player his first international signing since his return to the Premier League.

Aouni, 24, signed a five-year contract after Forrest paid the Bundesliga club a fee said to be around 17 million pounds ($21 million), according to the Associated Press.

Aouni, who had joined Liverpool as a teenager before going out on loan, scored 20 goals in 43 appearances for Al Ittihad last season.

Aouni, who made his Nigeria debut last year, joined Al Ittihad on loan during the 2020-21 season and made the move permanent last July.
