Education Minister honours RCSI-Bahrain art contest winners

Manama, May 14 (BNA): Minister of Education and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Higher Education Council, Dr. Muhammad bin Mubarak Juma, honored the winners of the competition held at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland – University of Medicine, University of Medicine. the two seas. The Minister of Education had sponsored the competition in its 2022-2023 edition, under the slogan “Who is the nurse?” Emerging artists from ten high schools for boys and girls participated in the competition.


The competition was led by Dora Al-Sayed Adnan from Saar Secondary School for Girls, followed by Hassan Sami Al-Asfoor from Al-Naeem Secondary School for Boys and Zahra Mahdi from Saar Secondary School for Girls, who ranked second and third, respectively.


The Minister congratulated the winners, and praised the initiative of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland – Medical University of Bahrain in organizing the competition, which plays an important role in utilizing artistic talents to spread health awareness, with a focus this year on the humane nursing profession.


The President of the Royal College of Surgeons in Bahrain, Professor Samir Al-Atoum, thanked the Minister for sponsoring the event, praising the Ministry’s policy of building partnerships between higher education institutions. He also praised the students’ artwork, which showed the humanitarian role of nurses.


Vice President of the Royal College of Surgeons in Bahrain for Academic Affairs, Professor Alfred Nicholson, emphasized the importance of partnership between higher education institutions and schools in supporting students and making use of their talents.

The principal of Saar Secondary School for Girls Hashimiya Sayed Sharaf also spoke at the ceremony on this occasion. Dr. Juma and other senior officials toured the exhibition displaying student artwork, as well as a corner for students of the Royal College of Surgeons in Bahrain, highlighting key issues, including healthy diets.
