Draft state budget plan for the fiscal years 2023-2024 discussed

Manama, May 14 (BNA): A joint meeting was held today between the executive and legislative authorities to discuss a draft law approving the state’s general budget for the fiscal years 2023-2024 attached to Decree No. (34) of 2023.

The session was chaired by Parliament Speaker Ahmed bin Salman Al-Musallam and Shura Council Speaker Ali bin Saleh Al-Saleh with Minister of Finance and National Economy Sheikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa.

The government team presented a detailed presentation of public revenues, in addition to plans and programs that will be approved by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning to implement a number of projects included in the draft law.

The plan included a number of housing projects in various governorates and a review of the financial services provided by the ministry.

The session stressed the importance of sustaining the provision of housing services to citizens with the highest levels of efficiency, preserving the gains and continuing to support various service programs in a way that contributes to achieving the stability of the Bahraini family.

The legislative side presented its observations on the draft law approving the state’s general budget for the fiscal years 2023-2024. The government team also clarified the inquiries raised by the financial and economic affairs committees in the two councils about the draft general budget law.

The two sides renewed their commitment to giving full priority to citizens above all other considerations in development plans and programmes. They stressed the importance of harnessing all their joint efforts and working as one team in order to reach consensus on approving the draft state budget for the fiscal years 2023-2024 as soon as possible.
