Bahrain joins world in marking World Cancer Day

Manama, February 3 (BNA) The Ministry of Health said that the Kingdom of Bahrain will participate with international and health organizations in the celebration of World Cancer Day on February 4.

The celebration affirms the Kingdom’s efforts in preventing tumors and spreading awareness of the complications of cancer.

The ministry said that the celebration of World Cancer Day aims to reduce premature deaths by 25% by 2025, educate communities about cancer diseases and ways to prevent them, encourage early detection, receive preventive vaccines, and emphasize solutions.

The Ministry said that the Kingdom of Bahrain is proud of providing quality and exemplary services to patients with various types of cancer in its various governmental and private facilities for diagnostic, treatment and rehabilitation services.

It is also proud of the associations and institutions that support patients and their families for recovery through awareness, education and support campaigns.

The Ministry affirmed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s keenness to treat chronic non-communicable diseases, as it formed the National Committee for Combating Chronic Non-communicable Diseases. The committee includes representatives from various parties and aims to develop strategies, plans and programs to limit the spread of these diseases. The Ministry is also keen to provide the best, safest and most effective health care for cancer patients.
