“Light-1” successfully launched into orbit

Manama, February 3 (BNA): The joint Bahraini-Emirati satellite “Light-1” was successfully launched into orbit in cooperation with the Japanese Space Agency (JAXA) to begin its scientific mission in monitoring and studying the Earth’s emissions. Gamma rays from thunderstorms and cumulus clouds.

“Light-1” successfully arrived at the International Space Station on December 22, 2021, carrying a “Falcon 9” rocket that was launched on SpaceX CRS-24 spaceflight from Kennedy Space Center in Florida, United States.

The name Light-1 is inspired by the book of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain, The First Light. It lists the main points in Bahrain’s history and the name symbolizes the country’s growth and scientific progress.
