Role description
The primary responsibilities of an account executive include prospecting, qualifying, selling and closing new businesses to existing and new, net clients. Account manager brings perspective to customer engagement; Uses all resources to solve customer problems with appropriate SAP products.
Expectations and tasks
Account management, customer relations, sales, software licensing, and subscription revenue in the cloud
Annual revenue – Achieving/exceeding target shares.
Sales strategies Align SAP Cloud/SaaS solutions with customer strategic goals Develop best practice account plans to ensure targeted revenue achievement and sustainable growth. Develop relationships in new and existing clients and benefit from leading a complex strategy through complex and global organizations.
Trusted Consultant – Establishes strong management and Cxx relationships based on knowledge of customer requirements and commitment to value (value of advice and experience, value of solutions, value of experience in implementation). It builds the foundation on which to harvest future trading opportunities, accurate account information, and training.
Customer Acumen Effective understanding of each customer’s technology footprint, strategic growth plans, technology strategy, and competitive landscape. Review general information (such as new executive hires, earnings statements, and press releases) for the company and its competitors to stay current on key industry trends and issues affecting the outlook.
– Area and account leadership – Lead the assigned area, including accounts, account relationships, lead profiles, and sales cycles. Encourage all accounts to become a SAP auditor.
Business Planning – Develop and present a comprehensive business plan to address customer priorities, expectations and weaknesses. Use VE, benchmarking, and ROI data to support customer decision-making.
Create demand and manage pipelines and opportunities
Pipeline Planning – Take a disciplined approach to maintaining a rolling pipeline. Keep the pipeline current and go to the pipeline curve.
Pipeline Partnerships Leverage support organizations including marketing, internal sales, partners and channels to direct the pipeline to the assigned area.
Leverage SAP Solutions Be proficient and bring all SAP offerings to impact sales endeavors including industry solutions, LOB solutions (CRM, SCM, HCM, SRM, etc.) and technology solutions (business analytics, mobility, database, technology, etc. al). Demonstrate early adoption of all new solutions and strategies.
Advanced and up close sales opportunities – through successful implementation of sales strategy and roadmap. Negotiate early and against the win/win strategy for SAP and its customers.
Support all SAP promotions and events in the Territory Take an active leadership role in sales at SAP events.
Sales Excellence
Build and share best practice selling and negotiation skills.
Sale value.
Maintain white space analysis and implement initiatives (even selling and cross selling) on client base.
Organizing Resources: Deploy the right teams to implement winning sales. Create OneSAP.
Take advantage of the best selling models.
Understand the SAP competition and develop effective solutions against it.
Maintains CRM system with accurate customer and pipeline information.

Demonstrate leadership skills in coordinating remote work teams.
Ensure that account and partner teams are well versed in each account’s strategy and are well positioned for all customer touch points and events. Maximize the value of all sales support organizations.
work experience
Over 15 years of experience in sales of complex business software/IT solutions in the financial/industry sector.
Experience in a leadership role in a group selling environment.
Education and qualification / skills and competencies
Proven track record in business application software sales at FSI.
Demonstrate success in large transactions and protracted sales campaigns in a fast-paced advisory and competitive market.
Exceptional contractual and negotiation skills.
