Youth Minister receives WHO Office Head

Manama, April 12 (BNA) The Minister of Youth and Sports Affairs, Ayman bin Tawfiq Al-Moayad, received the representative and head of the World Health Organization office in the Kingdom of Bahrain, Dr. Tasneem Ghaleb Atatreh. The meeting was held in the presence of senior officials of the Ministry and the World Health Organization.

The Minister of Youth and Sports Affairs affirmed the ministry’s keenness to cooperate with the World Health Organization to implement health programs for youth in line with the ministry’s direction to enrich the “Year of Bahrain Youth 2022” launched by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. .

The Minister referred to the key and influential role that the World Health Organization, through its team in Bahrain, plays in promoting public health. He stressed the importance of strengthening relations between the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs and the World Health Organization to involve Bahraini youth in achieving sustainable development goals related to health aspects.

Dr. Atatreh expressed the WHO’s keenness to consolidate cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs, praising the ministry’s promising programs and initiatives aimed at refining the skills and capabilities of young people. She indicated that the international organization will work to strengthen cooperation with the Ministry to implement health and awareness programs to enhance public health and transform it into a way of life.
