Youth Minister highlights Lamea Program at WGS

Dubai, Feb. 13 (BNA): Minister of Youth Rawan bint Najeeb Al-Tawfiqi highlighted Bahrain’s experience in the “Lamya” national program to empower young leaders, as part of the Arab meeting for young leaders at the World Government Summit in Dubai.

His Highness, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Ayman bin Tawfiq Al Moayyed attended the event.

In her presentation, the minister said that the Youth Empowerment Program began at the World Government Summit in Dubai four years ago with a fruitful discussion on how to build Bahraini, Emirati, Gulf and Arab societies based on positivity, faith and hope.

“We learned from our leaders that the process of building a nation begins with building a person,” she said.

“We learned that our identity is a common identity that emanates from unity, solidarity, belief in a common destiny, and the interest of qualified people in serving all members of society.”

The minister published a group photo from the first external training camp of the Lamia program at Expo 2020 Dubai.

Specialists in youth activities reviewed the success factors in empowering young leaders locally and regionally by sharing inspiring success stories.
