Manama, September 18 (BNA) Sheikh Khalid bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Director General of Implementation of Alternative Sentences and Sentences at the Ministry of Interior, received Paula Jack, the Justice Adviser at the Northern Ireland Cooperative Overseas Organization (NICO).
The Director-General highlighted the directorate’s role in expanding the scope of application of alternative punishments and the law of procedures and launching the open prisons program to promote human rights in accordance with royal directives.
The meeting discussed the latest developments in law enforcement, rehabilitation and training programs.
The two sides reviewed issues of common interest in promoting human rights and benefiting from British experiences in alternative sanctions.
British officials thanked the directorate’s role in promoting the law, including increasing the number of beneficiaries of the law.
