Undersecretary attends Non-Aligned Movement meeting

New York, September 21 (BNA) Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Dr. Sheikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa affirmed Bahrain’s support for the goals and principles of the Non-Aligned Movement, which calls for maintaining international peace and security and promoting peace. Coexistence between nations, peoples and cultures, and the establishment of international relations on the basis of friendship and respect for the sovereignty of states and non-interference in their internal affairs.

This came during his participation in the ministerial meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement on the sidelines of the seventy-seventh session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

Dr. Sheikh Abdullah noted the importance of solidarity and joint action among member states in promoting security, stability and peace at the international level, and supporting sustainable development goals in light of the challenges posed by the coronavirus pandemic.

He referred to Bahrain’s success in overcoming the epidemic thanks to the royal directives of His Majesty the King and His Royal Highness, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, stressing the importance of exchanging experiences with regard to addressing the epidemic and recovering from it.
