Tourism Ministry, BTEA participate in Dubai’s Arabian Travel Market

Dubai, May 2 (BNA): The Ministry of Tourism and the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority participated in the 30th session of the Arabian Travel Market in Dubai, which began in May and will continue until May 4.

The event focuses on the theme “Working towards net zero” and brings together global travel industry leaders, decision-makers and experts from 150 countries. Prominent speakers from the region and the world were also present.

The Ministry of Tourism and the Bahrain Tourism Authority are participating in the exhibition through the national pavilion of the Kingdom of Bahrain, which includes 23 Bahraini exhibitors, including Gulf Air, The Ritz-Carlton Bahrain, Laguna Beach Resort, Hilton Garden Inn Bahrain Bay and Novotel Al Dana Resort. Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay, The Diplomat Radisson Hotel, Ibn Firnas Travel and Tourism Company, and Visit Bahrain, among others. The pavilion also features 2,000 exhibitors from top hotels, destination management companies, tour operators and airlines from around the world.

Within the activities of the exhibition, Minister of Tourism Fatima bint Jaafar Al-Serafi participated in a ministerial panel discussion entitled “The Future of Travel for the GCC Countries” where she highlighted the importance of promoting the GCC countries as a single destination that will in turn increase tourism revenues in the GCC countries in addition to Increase in international tourism.

Al-Serafi also discussed the unprecedented achievements of the Bahraini tourism sector in 2022, noting the great progress achieved by the Kingdom and its projects, in particular highlighting the new Bahrain World exhibition.

In addition, she provided some perspectives on investment opportunities in the sector and the ongoing efforts to promote it both regionally and globally, leaving the attendees with a new appreciation for Bahrain’s thriving tourism industry.

In a statement, Fatima bint Jaafar Al-Serafi confirmed that Bahrain’s participation in the Arab Travel Market 2023 reflects the commitment of the Ministry and the Bahrain Tourism Authority to invest in major regional and international tourism events to enhance the travel and tourism sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The goal is to attract more tourists from all over the world to Bahrain, especially from countries with great tourism potential, and to continue achieving the strategic objectives of the Bahrain Tourism Strategy 2022-2026.

Al-Serafi added that the Arabian Travel Market is one of the largest travel and tourism exhibitions in the world, as it displays the latest trends and developments in the travel industry and provides favorable opportunities for companies related to the sector. She emphasized that the Ministry of Tourism and the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority had made all necessary preparations to ensure the maximum possible success for Bahrain’s participation in this global event. Moreover, the goal is to form new partnerships and reach more tourism markets, which will contribute to the development of the tourism industry in Bahrain.

The Bahraini pavilion witnessed a prominent and noteworthy presence from the participating parties. Visitors from all over the world were given a comprehensive overview of the latest sustainable developments in Bahrain’s tourism facilities, services and plans to establish itself as a prominent global hub for ‘green tourism’ and a sustainable tourism destination.
