Tamkeen supports United Paper Industries’ expansion to increase its exports, production capacity

Manama, July 6 (BNA): The Labor Fund “Tamkeen” continues to support the expansion plans of the United Paper Industries “Bahrain Pack”, which is specialized in the production and manufacture of packaging requirements of various shapes and sizes required. by local factories and companies. This comes as part of Tamkeen’s strategic directions to support all sectors with a focus on stimulating sectors with high potential, enhancing private sector productivity and enabling export and global expansion.


The United Paper Industries Company “Bahrain Pack” was established in 1993 to meet the growing demand for packaging in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Gulf Cooperation Council countries. Since its establishment, the company has been able to cover 70% of the local market demand for packaging, in addition to meeting the demands of neighboring GCC countries such as Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and the GCC countries in the Kingdom of Jordan.


Tamkeen’s support for this organization comes through the Business Growth Program, and will contribute to the company’s expansion, and increase its production capacity, which will directly affect the development of the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) supply chain in the Kingdom. United Paper Industries aims to expand its activities to supply the world’s largest producers of consumer goods such as Mondelēz and Arla Foods with packaging products. This support will also contribute to an increase in the company’s production capacity by 7000 tons, a 70% increase in revenue over the next three years, and a 30% increase in export production within 3 years.


On this occasion, the Acting CEO of Tamkeen, Ms. Maha Mafeez, emphasized the importance of the manufacturing sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain because of its positive impact on the national economy by enhancing local production, supporting local industries, and contributing to creating high-end sectors. High-quality job opportunities for citizens. She said: “The United Paper Industry Company has achieved great success and has grown its production and export capabilities significantly. With the support of Tamkeen, we will enable them to expand their operations further, providing greater job and training opportunities for Bahrainis.”

She added, “Tamkeen is committed to supporting all institutions of various sectors and sizes, with a focus on stimulating sectors with high potential for their role in driving sustainable economic growth in the Kingdom, in line with the economic recovery plan.”


Mr. Ibrahim Mohamed Ali Zainal, Vice Chairman of the United Paper Industries Company (Bahrain Pak), expressed his gratitude for the continuous support from Tamkeen, and emphasized the active role it plays in ensuring the continued growth and expansion of the company. Which in turn contributes to strengthening its role as a vital component of the supply chain in the region. This directly contributes to increased production and exports that meet the increasing demand of local and global companies such as Mondelēz, Arla Foods, Reckitt Benckiser and Olayan Kimberly Clark. He said, “In the coming years, we aim to increase our production capacity further, which requires additional job opportunities, and as a result, we will increase the number of Bahraini employees from 76 to about 90. In addition, we will empower Bahraini talent by appointing them to leadership positions. in the company while providing the necessary training by utilizing Tamkeen’s human capital development programs.”
