Tamkeen supports Bahrainis’ recruitment, training in collaboration with HH Shaikh Nasser AI Research and Development Centre

Manama, July 12 (BNA) The Labor Fund “Tamkeen” announced its support for the employment and training of Bahrainis in the field of artificial intelligence in cooperation with His Highness, as part of its strategic direction to develop the skills of national talents with emerging skills in the labor market. This cooperation will enhance the center’s position as the first artificial intelligence (AI) research center in the Kingdom, which was established with the aim of finding solutions in artificial intelligence that serve both the public and private sectors by working with reputable academics and students from universities. And higher education institutions are in a unified position to provide mentorship, research, and innovative AI solutions. The center was honored for its work in this field, after winning the Best Artificial Intelligence in Education award at the Gulf and Middle East Information Technology Exhibition and Conference (GITEX) that was held in Dubai last year.

On this occasion, Tamkeen’s Acting CEO, Maha Mufeez, said: “We are honored to collaborate with His Highness Sheikh Nasser Center for Artificial Intelligence Research and Development to find innovative artificial intelligence solutions and enhance the skills of local talent, in line with one of our main goals. To make Bahrainis the employee of choice by developing their skills With the emerging skills required in the rapidly changing labor market, and creating a new generation of young people with the highest technical capabilities that will enable them to compete locally and internationally.”

The Executive Director of His Highness Sheikh Nasser Center for Research and Development of Artificial Intelligence, Dr. Abdullah Nasser Al Nuaimi, praised this cooperation, commenting: “We appreciate Tamkeen’s commitment to developing local talent in the field of artificial intelligence and future jobs because of their promising opportunities. This cooperation supports some of the center’s main objectives, which include developing innovative artificial intelligence solutions and providing the labor market with qualified professionals who are able to enhance the efficiency of the Bahraini workforce in various sectors in the Kingdom.”

The World Economic Forum’s 2020 Future of Jobs Report predicts that 85 million jobs will be replaced due to automation and technological advances by 2025, but this offers greater opportunities to develop new jobs and roles as humans, robots and machines increasingly work together.

This collaboration comes on the heels of a series of strategic partnerships and initiatives recently launched by Tamkeen such as the previously announced initiative to train and hire Bahraini actuaries in the insurance sector with the aim of developing the national workforce and enhancing their skills through training opportunities that address skills gaps. In the market. This is in line with one of Tamkeen’s main goals, which is to make Bahrainis the first choice for employment in the labor market. These strategic partnerships and initiatives come alongside 16 programs that Tamkeen launched earlier this year as part of a comprehensive enterprise-wide transformation initiative focused on making a greater economic impact in Bahrain.
