The position of Director, Talent and Culture is responsible for overseeing and managing the management of talent and culture at the property, and relates to all areas that support AccorHotels’ philosophy of creating an environment in which every member of the team is recognized and valued. Input.

The Talent and Culture Manager will lead all elements of the talent journey including employer branding, recruitment and selection, orientation and onboarding, performance management and feedback, engagement with colleagues, learning and development, talent management, career management, cultural diversity and inclusion, policies and procedures, rewards and recognition, and compensation Benefits, Health and Wellness, Corporate Social Responsibility, Financial Management and Labor Relations (where applicable) with a view to providing business support to all departments through collaboration, effective communication and training.

The successful candidate will need to be passionate about employee relations and be a great problem solver who can adapt to different requirements. Supporting the leadership team through training and communication will be a key time commitment

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the General Manager in dotted line to the Regional Director, Talent, Culture and Core job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Responsible for advocating, communicating, and implementing the company’s mission, promises, values, and all associated programs.
Actively participate as a member of the Executive Committee and work closely with all members of the Executive Team in achieving the hotel’s goals and objectives.
Formulates and recommends policies, procedures, and standards related to recruitment, selection, compensation, benefits, employee welfare, safety and health, employee communications, industrial relations, training and development, performance management and career development in accordance with established Accor guidelines as well as national, industry, laws and norms and ensures compliance with them by all departments
Provides career guidance and ensures compliance with all applicable federal and provincial legislation including workers compensation, human rights, employment standards and labor relations and keeps abreast of all applicable legislation.
Strategically partner with the executive team to develop and implement a hotel recruitment strategy to attract talent to the property and assist them in assessing departmental staffing requirements based on operational demand and business volume and implementing the most appropriate staffing solutions
Create and implement a world class qualification experience for new cardiologists (several hundred fellows per year)
Work closely with the housing team on various elements such as – programming, concerns about accommodation policy, and tenant violations
Responsible for preparing and managing the annual talent and culture budget including monthly projections and accrual process as per Accor guidelines
Work with the executive team to evaluate the hotel’s annual learning and development strategies. This will include tools for setup, training, development and property specific requirements. Ensure that plans are implemented
Work with the Executive Committee in reviewing and implementing a hotel mentoring strategy focused on providing a hotel-wide program designed to engage the leadership team in their pursuit of growth; Whether as individuals or to pay hotel results
Work closely with the L&D Steering Committee to identify, access and facilitate leadership workshops and help facilitate leadership orientation to support leadership preparation for policies and procedures
Responsible for working with operational division leaders to review all divisions job task checklists and ensure tools are in place for all management exercises
Participate in creating an environment of co-leaders by being an active member of the leadership team. Create strong interpersonal relationships that allow for mentoring and coaching that supports the engagement of leaders and colleagues
Work closely with the senior leadership team to focus on retention strategies – the core of which will be onboarding, learning and development, and recognition
Organize the annual performance review process in line with company policies and procedures and leadership competency/capability framework;
Coordination of the annual employee engagement survey (including the survey participation strategy and dissemination of results)
In partnership with the Executive Committee, assist department leaders in developing specific action plans to address issues and concerns and celebrate positive feedback identified in employee engagement surveys
Lead the annual talent review process and assist managers in completing potential talent assessments for all leadership talent
Advocating for workplace safety programs to ensure compliance with regulations, awareness of colleagues, and an accident-free workplace
Participate in biweekly leadership meetings and facilitate the organization and presentation of the quarterly General Staff meetings in order to ensure open communication
Recognize leader and colleagues’ concerns and respond or mediate in a timely manner.
Ensure that all company rewards and recognition programs are active within the property
Conduct and lead the annual salary/merit review process in line with company policies and procedures
– representation of the hotel in collective bargaining, communications with workers’ organizations, employee representations, negotiations with the union or internal committee on industrial relations issues;
Maintain accurate records of talent and culture within the department
Ensure that end-of-service interviews are completed for all departing colleagues and identify any patterns that can assist in their retention
Support apprenticeship programs throughout the hotel and be a SWEP champion
Collaborate with other managers, talent and culture in the region through regular monthly calls and strategic direction
Supporting the Diversity and Inclusion Committee and all the pillars of measuring success.
It must be in line with our COVID-19 policies

qualifications:

There will be a need to have a sense of urgency and the ability to stay positive and prioritize tasks
Minimum of 4 years’ experience managing a HR function in the luxury hotel/hospitality industry
Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related major
Experience in a high-volume resort environment with high turnover and strong asset
Knowledge of local business law and practices
Experience working in a union environment is an asset
– Relationship builder who can create collaborative environments. Ability to communicate and communicate with a variety of individuals
– Excellent planning and organizational skills
– Up-to-date HR trends and practices in the marketplace.
Flexible and able to effectively embrace and respond to change
A high degree of ethics, responsibility and reliability
Proven knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Microsoft Teams, PowerPoint, Publisher, Excel, Word) required
Results oriented with the ability to be flexible and work well under pressure
Innovative, imaginative and willing to take risks and take responsibility for successes, impending mistakes, and inevitable mistakes!
