Swiss airspace closed due to air traffic control disruption

Geneva, June 15 (BNA): Swiss airspace was closed to commercial aircraft this morning, Wednesday, for safety reasons.

The Geneva-based company said in a statement that this was due to the technical disruption experienced by Skyguide Air Navigation Services.

A spokesman told dpa that the information technology network has been affected and the airspace closure will remain in effect until the problem is resolved.

It is not clear how long the problem is expected to persist.
