Speaker highlights boosting cooperation with US Congress

Washington, June 15 (BNA) House Speaker Fawzia bint Abdullah Zainal held a meeting with Congressman Joe Wilson (Republican from South Carolina), the first member of the House Armed Forces Committee.


The Speaker of the House of Representatives stressed the importance of the joint interest in strengthening cooperation between the Bahraini Parliament and the US Congress for the benefit of the two countries and their peoples.



It reviewed the increasing outputs related to economic reforms and the attractive environment that Bahrain provides to investors.



Zainal stressed the availability of trade, economic and industrial cooperation opportunities between Bahrain and the United States, in light of the recent inauguration of the American Trade Zone (USTZ) in Bahrain, in addition to working to increase revenues from the free trade agreement, and boost trade. exchange.


The member of Congress praised the development efforts witnessed by the Kingdom of Bahrain and the progress achieved under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, noting the follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.


He stressed that Bahrain’s openness to development since the launch of its reform project two decades ago gives it special regional characteristics, stressing that the continuation of free electoral practice is a distinctive witness to the democratic process.


Wilson noted his efforts to support finding joint action between the US Congress and the House of Representatives, and discussing the formation of a Parliamentary Friendship Committee.
