‘Sustainable Energy Authority Award for Renewable Energy’ to be launched

Manama, December 25 (BNA): The Sustainable Energy Authority (SEA) will launch an award in its belief in the importance of supporting all efforts to achieve temporary and long-term national goals, including reaching net carbon emissions. .

Under the patronage of the President of the Renewable Energy Authority, Dr. Abdul-Hussein bin Ali Mirza, the “Sustainable Energy Authority Award for Renewable Energy” is in line with the efforts of the Sustainable Energy Authority to advance the renewable energy sector in the Kingdom, encourage investment in it, and enhance public awareness about renewable energy. The SEA explained that the concepts and their important impact on maintaining the sustainability of energy resources and achieving the Kingdom’s national, regional and global commitments.

On this occasion, Dr. Mirza affirmed the keenness of the Mediterranean Authority to assume its national responsibilities, by developing the sustainable energy sector, in line with the visions of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the government’s efforts led by His Royal Highness. He indicated that through the award, SEA aims to promote the best technologies, applications and effective practices to enhance the contribution of renewable energy as a sustainable and competitive alternative to fossil energy, and to highlight the importance and feasibility of renewable energy projects within the efforts. Dr. Mirza said that the SEA will soon announce the opening of registration for the award, which targets individuals, government agencies, the private sector, institutions and non-profit organizations, indicating that the award will be in three categories, namely “innovation”, which will be awarded to participants who have innovative and exceptional research that provides Unique solutions, “Sustainability”, which will be presented to participants with initiatives characterized by diversity, scalability and entrepreneurship, and “Impact”, to be awarded to participants with measurable initiatives that can achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.

Dr. Mirza added that the award will focus on solar, wind and various renewable energy resources that can be applied in the Kingdom and that would allow SEA to enhance capacity building, fill gaps and raise awareness about renewable energy and its many returns. on the social, developmental, economic and environmental levels.
