Speaker praises Bahraini-Azeri historical relations

Manama, May 24 (BNA) Parliament Speaker Fawzia bint Abdullah Zainal praised the historical and growing relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Republic of Azerbaijan in light of the comprehensive development process led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. She praised the common denominators between the two countries, which would strengthen bilateral relations and enhance economic, trade and investment exchange.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives made the remarks when she received today the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to the Kingdom of Bahrain residing in Riyadh Shahin Abdullayev, in the presence of the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs, Defense and National Security Committee Mohamed Ibrahim Al-Sisi Al-Buainain.

They discussed ways to enhance relations between the two friendly countries, especially in the parliamentary field.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives affirmed the legislative authority’s keenness to provide all support to strengthen relations between the two countries, noting the two parties’ readiness to activate the agreements signed between them and to enhance comprehensive cooperation.

The Azerbaijani ambassador expressed his country’s keenness on further cooperation and coordination with the Kingdom of Bahrain, praising the Kingdom’s leading role in achieving stability in the region, and its remarkable presence in regional and international parliamentary gatherings. He praised Bahrain’s democratic and parliamentary march and the great development efforts Bahrain is witnessing, pointing to investment opportunities in the two countries, especially in the fields of food, agriculture and petrochemicals.
