Speaker chairs IPU plenary session; expresses pride in Bahrain’s successes in combating pandemic

Madrid, November 28 (BNA) Parliament Speaker Fawzia bint Abdullah affirmed that the Kingdom of Bahrain provides fair health care and treatment services to all citizens and residents as part of its efforts to combat the novel coronavirus pandemic in the country. In line with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to harness all capabilities and resources in order to preserve the health and safety of citizens and residents.

She expressed her deep pride in the pioneering achievements made by the Kingdom in combating the epidemic, thanks to the dedicated efforts of the national medical team to combat the Corona virus and the Bahrain team led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister. The Minister, in addition to the awareness of the Bahraini people and their commitment to the precautionary measures in place.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives made his remarks while presiding here today one of the plenary sessions of the 143rd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), under the title “Harnessing Global Parliamentary Support for Vaccine Equity in the Fight against the COVID-19 Pandemic”.

She indicated that achieving health security for all is one of the priorities of the Kingdom of Bahrain, noting the concerted efforts made between the various sectors to overcome the effects of the epidemic.

She stressed that the legislative authority supports all laws and legislation that would strengthen the health system in the Kingdom, and open new paths for quality and efficiency in all treatment services provided to citizens and residents.
