Social Development Minister praises Bahraini women


Manama, Nov. 24 (BNA): Bahrain joins the international community in celebrating the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, which was designated by the United Nations General Assembly on November 25, to highlight efforts to eliminate all forms of violence against women. to achieve gender equality.

The day coincides with the Unite to End Violence Against Women campaign (November 25 – December 10), a 16-day initiative that concludes on International Human Rights Day, December 10.

Led by the UN Secretary-General and UN Women, the campaign aims to prevent and eliminate violence against women and girls worldwide, calling for global action to raise awareness and strengthen advocacy for this goal and provide opportunities to discuss challenges and solutions.

Minister of Social Development Osama bin Ahmed Khalaf Al-Asfoor said that Bahraini women enjoy appreciation, respect and faith in their capabilities and competencies in light of the comprehensive development process led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and with the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad. He pointed out that they have obtained all their rights to protection from all forms of violence and discrimination, and that Bahrain is steadily moving towards consolidating the gains.
