Manama, November 24 (BNA): In coordination with the Bahrain Institute for Pearls and Gems (Danat), and on the occasion of the historic visit of Francesca Cartier Brickle, the granddaughter of the Cartier family, to Bahrain, a souvenir photo was taken.
The photo showed Francesca in the same position in which her grandfather, Jacques Cartier, sat during his visit in 1912, about 110 years ago, and next to her were the grandchildren of dignitaries who appeared in the old photo with Cartier.
In the photo dating back to 1912, seated from right to left are Yusuf bin Ahmed Kanoo, Salman bin Hussain Matar, Jacques Cartier, Moqbel bin Abdul Rahman Al Thaker and Abdul Rahman Al Ibrahim.
And the picture of the grandchildren in 2022 appears, from right to left, Fawzi bin Ahmed Kanoo, Ibrahim bin Khalifa Matar, Francesca Cartier, Moqbel bin Salman Al-Thukair and Omar bin Youssef Al-Thukair – the grandson of the Ibrahim family -.
