Shura Council honours journalists, media professionals

Manama, May 7 (BNA): Shura Council Speaker Ali bin Saleh Al-Saleh affirmed that journalists, media professionals, and representatives of Bahraini newspapers and media are important partners in educating the Bahraini public and society.


He added that they shed light on the efforts made by the legislative authority to modernize national laws and consolidate the values ​​and principles of modern democracy that the Kingdom enjoys within the framework of the reform project of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.


He also praised their keenness to highlight the successes of the government led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.


Al-Saleh’s remarks came during his sponsorship here today of a ceremony held by the Shura Council in honor of representatives of newspapers and the media on the occasion of World Press Freedom Day and Bahrain Press Day.


He praised the dedication of journalists and media professionals and their commitment to professional ethics, stressing that Bahrain Press Day represents an opportunity to express praise and appreciation for all journalistic and media efforts, as well as recalling the rich record of the Bahraini press.


Journalists and media professionals expressed their thanks and appreciation to the Shura Council for its keenness to honor journalists and appreciate the contributions of local newspapers.
