About the role:
WSP is looking for a Senior Resident Engineer, with more than twenty years of experience to manage and manage a contract that includes supervision, coordination, testing and commissioning of works, with a focus on meeting contract requirements in terms of quality, time and budget, during the construction phase of the major roads and infrastructure project in Qatar.
A normal week includes:
* Develop a construction management plan to ensure that all contracts are managed according to common standards and practices
* Initiating and responding to contract correspondence to and from the client, and contractual correspondence with the contractor
* Official handover of the site to the contractor
* Arrange, chair and record meetings, starting with the inaugural meeting and thereafter progress and management meetings deemed necessary
* Establish procedures for inspection, test and commissioning approvals in accordance with contract requirements
* Review contractor’s HSE plan and ensure site safety procedures are followed
* Review and comment on contractor programs to ensure they are sufficiently detailed to demonstrate compliance with contract requirements, allocated resources and cash flows
* Monitor contractors’ progress during construction and regularly evaluate production
* Implement the requirements of the quality management system and conduct regular audits
* Ensure that the contractor contacts services and other authorities in a timely manner so as not to affect the progress of the works by attending meetings, monitoring agreed programs and regular follow-up
* Endorsement and termination of interim payments after full review and consultation with RE, ARE and Quantity Surveyor
* Prepare material completion reports including any outstanding requirements
* Issuance of liability certificates upon receipt and defects as required by the contract
We would love to hear from you if you have:
* 20 years of experience managing major road/infrastructure construction projects with international consultants.
* bachelor of Civil Engineering
* Comprehensive experience in related discipline programmes
* Experienced working as an engineer under FIDIC contract
* Previous experience in Qatar is preferred
