Responsibilities and duties
• Assist the Reservation Manager with all room inquiries, reservations, confirmations, cancellations and ROI management to ensure highest rates and occupancy are achieved
• Assist Reservation Manager in increasing room revenue, average room rate and occupancy rate through effective revenue management.
• Ensure that all guest requests are responded to, such as requests for brochures, confirmations, etc.
• Follow up on all unconfirmed individual and group bookings.
• Tour operators hunt down deposits, confirm numbers, etc.
• Constantly monitor availability and close/open for different price codes.
• Be aware of all prices.
• Answering inquiries related to hotel services. Record guests and trends for shopping, dining, entertainment and travel.
• Make and confirm reservations.
• Make reservations for restaurants, transportation or entertainment, and arrange tours.
• Ask for free flowers or champagne for guests.
• Assist the Reservation Manager to run an effective reservations management ensuring the highest occupancy rate.
• Ensure that all reservations are completed.
• Monitor websites for incoming reservations.
• Monitor daily availability and inform the front office of the best selling prices.
• Run the queue on busy days to ensure maximum occupancy
• Record interruptions on busy appointments.
• Regular checks for future bookings.
• Show potential clients around the hotel.
• Assisting in compiling daily/weekly/monthly/annual statistical reports or any other reports as requested by the Reservation Department.
• Date stamps and sorts incoming mail and messages.
• Send and receive messages using the phone or the phone keypad.
• Maintain records of room availability and guest accounts using computer system.
• You may be required to work at the front desk from time to time.
• When necessary to follow up on reservations and send apologies if necessary.
• Perform various duties related to the job as assigned.
