Quarantine not required for Green Shield holders who are contacts of active COVID-19 cases

Manama, Oct. 14 (BNA) After the approval of the Governmental Executive Committee, the National Medical Task Force to Combat Coronavirus (Covid-19) announced the update of examination and quarantine procedures for contacts traced to active COVID-19 cases, starting from Friday. October 15, 2021.

For non-green shield holders:

Individuals who do not hold a Green Shield must self-quarantine for seven days instead of the previously announced ten-day period. Quarantine should start from the date of contact, with mandatory PCR tests performed at the beginning of the quarantine period and on the seventh day after contact to end the quarantine.

For vaccinated or recovered individuals who hold a green shield:

Individuals who have been vaccinated or recovered with Green Shield and who have come into contact with an active COVID-19 case are no longer required to self-quarantine. However, they should do a PCR test on the first and seventh days after contact.

The task force added that additional testing should be done immediately if one experiences any symptoms associated with COVID-19.

The above procedures do not apply to contacts of active COVID-19 cases who were traced before October 15.

The National Medical Task Force on Coronavirus (COVID-19) has confirmed that regular updates to procedures are based on national indicators related to the efficacy of vaccines and booster shots.
