Oil and Environment Minister receives Egyptian Ambassador

Manama, August 4 (BNA) The Minister of Oil and Environment, and the Special Envoy for Climate Affairs, Dr. Muhammad bin Mubarak bin Dina, affirmed the effective role that Egypt plays at the regional and international levels with regard to the implementation of the United Nations framework. Climate Change Agreement and the Paris Agreement.

During his reception here today, the Egyptian ambassador to Bahrain, Yasser Mohamed Ahmed Shaaban, praised the deep-rooted brotherly relations between Bahrain and Egypt, stressing the Kingdom’s keenness to enhance its cooperation with Egypt in the fields of energy and environment.

The two sides reviewed ways to enhance bilateral relations in the field of environment and renewable energy and the two countries’ role in supporting international efforts to mitigate the effects of climate change.

They also discussed Egypt’s preparations to host the 27th session of the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 27), scheduled to be held in Sharm El Sheikh in November 2022.

The envoy expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Minister, expressing his pride in the advanced level of cooperation between the two brotherly countries in various fields.

He affirmed his country’s keenness to strengthen its relations with Bahrain for the good of the two brotherly countries and their peoples.
