Nominations for 7th Prime Minister’s Press Award have concluded, Information Minister says

Manama, April 29 (BNA): Information Minister Dr. Ramadan bin Abdullah Al-Nuaimi announced that nominations for the seventh session of the Prime Minister’s Award for Journalism have ended.

A total of 319 entries were submitted in four categories for the award – 138 opinion columns, 41 investigative stories, 107 interviews and 33 photojournalism.

The minister praised the care given by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to the Bahraini press, which opened wide horizons for responsible freedom of opinion and expression, which provided the press with the appropriate conditions to play its pivotal role in supporting the media march. National development through responsible opinion.

He also highlighted the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for the award, which motivates members of the journalistic community to participate in it, in light of the honor that the award represents for creativity. journalists.

He emphasized the level of works presented this year, which reflect the development achieved by the Bahraini press in terms of form, content and intellectual creativity within a framework that respects the ethics of the profession and stems from its noble mission to advance the profession. community awareness.

He indicated that a committee of experts and specialists was formed to evaluate the works, and then announce the names of the winners with complete transparency and in accordance with the criteria that govern the award.

He thanked the press community for its role in strengthening the pillars of the comprehensive development process taking place in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and for its distinguished contributions in supporting everything that serves the interest of the country and citizens.
