NIHR delegation visits informed about services delivered to domestic violence victims

Manama, June 14 (BNA) The Committee for Visiting Arrests and Facilities at the National Institution for Human Rights visited today the “House of Safety” for women who are subjected to domestic violence.

The visit is based on the mandate of the National Human Rights Institution in the field of protection and promotion of human rights, and the jurisdiction granted to it under the provisions of its founding law, in order to assess the general conditions of the population and their observations.

The visit aimed to verify the extent to which the affiliates enjoy their rights guaranteed under national legislation and international human rights standards.

During the visit, the delegation of the National Institution for Human Rights was briefed about the facilities of “Dar Al-Aman”, and its role in securing temporary shelter for families exposed to domestic violence.

The delegation praised the efforts made by “Dar Al-Aman” officials to provide the necessary protection for the victims, in addition to providing them with various living, social, health, recreational, psychological and legal services.
