Rome July 16 (U.S.): A three-story apartment building collapsed Sunday in a coastal suburb of Naples, and at least two people were pulled from the rubble as rescuers searched for any others who might be trapped.
Italian news agency ANSA said a woman was rescued from the rubble of the building in Torre del Greco, 12 kilometers (about 7 miles) from Naples in Italy’s southern Campania region. Soon after, Italian state television said a second survivor had been pulled out, the Associated Press (AP) reported.
Police and firefighters scrambled over a pile of rubble, looking for additional survivors or victims.
It was not immediately clear how many people might have been in or near the building in the city center when it fell.
Five teams of firefighters were deployed to the scene.
