Transportation Minister attends ITU high-level session

Geneva, July 11 (BNA): Minister of Transport and Communications Mohammed bin Thamer Al-Kaabi and his accompanying delegation participated in the retreat set up by the International Telecommunication Union for its council members.

The minister also attended the high-level session of the International Telecommunication Union, which is taking place in Geneva on July 11 and 21, in the presence of ministers, commissioners and heads of delegations.

The conference was held under the theme “Preparing ITU for the Future” in line with the key priorities identified by Plenipotentiary Conference 2022 (PP22).

The conference dealt with many issues related to the federation’s strategic direction, current and future challenges, strategic policies, setting priorities and future plans for the development of the sector.

The event also focused on strengthening the Federation’s governance and procedures to achieve the strategic objectives and discussing the challenges facing ICT initiatives.

“This conference is one of the important international conferences to discuss and develop a common vision for future policies and challenges for the telecommunications sector around the world,” the minister said.
