Bahrain global role model for combating trafficking in persons: Labour Minister

Manama, June 15 (BNA): Minister of Labor and Chairman of the Labor Market Regulatory Authority, Jamil bin Muhammad Ali Humaidan, praised the renewal of international confidence in the Kingdom’s great and sustainable efforts in the human field. rights and combat human trafficking by achieving “Tier 1” for the sixth consecutive year in the US State Department’s 2023 Trafficking in Persons Report (TIP), the highest annual international ranking in the field.


On this occasion, the minister offered his deepest congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for this exploit, stressing that the Kingdom’s success in keeping it safe. This international situation for the sixth year in a row is the result of royal directives to give priority to human rights and peaceful coexistence, deeply rooted in the social, moral and civilized culture in Bahrain, in all national policies and legislation.


Minister Humaidan praised the efforts made by all government agencies and institutions for their keenness to work diligently and in an integrated institutional system that reflects the civilized image of the Kingdom’s systems, legislation and work ethics based on prevention, protection and fairness, praising the role played by all partners concerned with the issue of human trafficking.


He praised the supervision and follow-up of the Minister of Interior, Major General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, to the efforts of the Ministry of Interior in providing protection and security, as well as supporting efforts to combat human trafficking, through rapid response. The Minister of Labor indicated that the continuous cooperation between these agencies has a great impact in achieving best practices that enabled the Kingdom to maintain the status of the first category and maintain its international reputation in combating this cross-border crime, which contributes to making Bahrain a global role.
