SCW Secretary General receives US Ambassador

Manama, July 11 (BNA): Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Women, Hala Al-Ansari, received Stephen Bondy, US Ambassador to Bahrain.

The Secretary-General reviewed the programs and initiatives of the Supreme Council for Women within the framework of the national plan for the advancement of Bahraini women, and highlighted the latest achievements of Bahraini women at the local and international levels, especially with regard to their participation in national development.

The meeting discussed issues of common interest, which come within the framework of the outcomes of the strategic dialogue between the United States and Bahrain, which cover developmental aspects such as women’s empowerment programs, in cooperation with the Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The ambassador indicated the Kingdom of Bahrain’s keenness to sustain the progress of Bahraini women through the Supreme Council for Women.

He affirmed his country’s interest in supporting the Bahraini model in the field of equal opportunities and gender balance.
