Manama, June 19 (BNA): The Cybercrime Prosecution, the Ministry of Interior and the Bahrain Institute for Banking and Financial Studies held a meeting for representatives of various banking institutions in the Kingdom.
The meeting came as a result of a previous meeting that discussed electronic fraud and its challenges, organized by the Public Prosecution.
The Public Prosecution presented electronic fraud reports and statistics for the past years and classified them according to severity criteria, and highlighted some important electronic fraud cases carried out by the Public Prosecution, as well as the latest methods used by the perpetrators in executing their criminal schemes.
The General Directorate of Anti-Corruption and Economic and Electronic Security at the Ministry of Interior presented the mechanism for committing electronic fraud crimes, and the total amounts transferred through these operations between various banks locally and abroad over the past years.
