Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz meet in Wimbledon final

Wimbledon, July 16 (BNA): Novak Djokovic is fighting for his eighth Wimbledon singles title, and fifth in a row.

Carlos Alcaraz is trying to win his first All England Club title.

Djokovic wants his 24th Grand Slam title. The Associated Press (AP) reports that Alcaraz wants his second.

There’s a lot at stake when Djokovic and Alcaraz take on each other on Center Court in Sunday’s Wimbledon final.

There’s also this: Alcaraz, a 20-year-old from Spain, is in first place, and Djokovic, a 36-year-old from Serbia, is in second.

In addition to the Wimbledon Cup, the winner will receive the highest rating of professional tennis players.

This is a rematch between Alcaraz and Djokovic in last month’s French Open semi-final.

The first two sets were great, and each man won one set. But then Alcaraz overcame the cramp and later said he believed nerves were the main reason and Djokovic took the last two sets 6-1, 6-1.

Marketa Vondrousova won her first Grand Slam title on Saturday by defeating Ons Jabeur 6-4, 6-4 in the women’s final.
